Pick whatever you like at Sonny in City Center and Frederiksberg — Seasonal and bright, this laid-back morning and lunch spot is a city favorite for a reason
Eight years in, Sonny still delivers its founding promise to serve world-class coffee and matcha alongside real, nourishing food. Founded by partners in business and life, Sara Wreschner and David Andersen, what started in a tiny former teahouse has grown into two cafés with some of the city’s most sought-after seats. And not just for their iconic banana bread.
Chili oil-slicked folded eggs, pancakes with yuzu curd, autumnal yogurt and granola bowls, frittatas, and vibrant salads define the morning-to-afternoon menu. A standout bakery case filled with habit-forming cinnamon buns, cakes, and cookies can’t be missed. Meanwhile, a sharp beverage program ensures every pour of La Cabra coffee and matcha lives up to the bite it accompanies.
From Frederiksberg’s sunlit dining space to Rådhusstræde’s cozy corners, one thing is certain: your next slow morning or afternoon should start here.
