7-course menu at Rufino Osteria in Christianshavn – Alessandro Polledri’s authentic journey through Italy remains one of the best Italian restaurants in the city
Tucked away on the corner of Strandgade and Torvegade, Rufino Osteria is one of Copenhagen’s most beloved Italian hideaways. The reason? Finding these deeply regional dishes outside of Italy is near-mythical.
Here, chef Alessandro Polledri channels his Ligurian roots and a lifetime in Italian kitchens into a menu that explores Italian craft beyond the mainstream. Golden Abruzzese croquettes and fettuccine with venison and wild boar ragù carry the meal deep into the Italian countryside. Veal with bagnetto rosso e verde pays homage to Piedmont’s grand bollito misto, while beetroot gnocchi in Taleggio cream with roasted chestnuts channels the comfort of the Alpine kitchen. The experience ends with the house classic, gianduja tiramisù, unchanged since day one.
Though the menu is always in Italian, simply follow the lead of the homesick regulars if you find yourself adrift.
