Pick whatever you like at Matcha MORI in Nordhavn – The matcha wave has finally arrived in Copenhagen’s harbors, and it brings matcha sourced straight from Japan
Matcha MORI isn’t your grandma’s tea house, and it’s not a viral pursuit, either. It’s something else entirely: a Scandi interpretation of the matcha café, designed for the tea-curious and the devout alike. The matcha is always ceremonial-grade, sourced from Uji, Japan, and whisked to order on an oak bar in front of you. Beverages and Japanese snacks can be enjoyed on traditional tatami-style tables or café seating, depending on your mood. It’s a casually serene space to enjoy the full matcha experience, complemented by a thoughtful menu of handmade onigiri, pan-fried gyoza, and creamy cheesecakes.
WHAT YOU GET
Pick whatever you like at Matcha MORI in Nordhavn. Make yourself at home at the low tatami tables, catch some sun on the patio, or grab your matcha to go. All milk-based drinks are made with your choice of dairy or plant-based milk. Sip a smooth iced matcha, or go classic with a hot matcha latte. Drink a fruity iced matcha infused with strawberry or blueberry jam, a zesty matcha yuzu fizz, or a cooling matcha-topped coconut water. Indulge in the house signature matcha ice cream, or get a slice of white chocolate coconut cheesecake with a matcha drizzle. For breakfast, go for creamy overnight oats with banana, fresh berries, shaved coconut, and a dusting of matcha powder. If you’re seeking something savory, enjoy freshly made onigiri with fillings like chicken teriyaki, spicy tuna, and kimchi. Snack on croissants, crispy pan-fried gyoza, and more.

Opened this month, Matcha MORI honors the storied traditions of matcha-making with a contemporary Copenhagen spin. After working a decade in the fashion world, founder Ben Haibin Lin hungered for something more. He found the answer – his own “Eat, Pray, Love” moment, as Lin calls it – in the modern tea cafés of Tokyo, Bali, and Hong Kong. Returning to Denmark with intensive matcha training under his belt and a clear vision, Lin created Matcha MORI to serve matcha the right way: with integrity and an inclusive spirit. That founding ethos is why Matcha MORI only serves ceremonial-grade matcha from a trusted tea farm, in a space that provides something for everyone.
