Pick whatever you like at Inferno in Vesterbro – Inspired by the nightlife of Tokyo and Berlin, this newly opened cocktail bar doubles as a multisensory experience
Hidden beneath Istedgade is a world constructed around experimental mixology – complete with ambient soundscapes, custom-built furniture, and the underground energy of bars in Tokyo and Berlin. At Inferno, inventive cocktails are built with in-house ferments, local ingredients, and eclectic flavor combinations. Guests place their order with a bartender or the AI cocktail printer, a one-of-a-kind machine and interactive art piece that calculates new, algorithmically balanced cocktails. Whether you’re exploring the cocktail menu or letting the machine decide, every visit promises a drink, and a night, like no other.
WHAT YOU GET
Pick whatever you like at Inferno. Explore the cocktail menu or let the AI cocktail printer determine your fate. Drink a funky and berry-driven Gasoline, with Mexican rum, fermented raspberries, whey, and white amaretto. Sip a Hyperphantasia, a complexly fresh concoction of sea buckthorn, bergamot, gentian root, and white port wine. Taste an abstractly herbal Irony, made with absinthe, white chocolate, milk, and rye whiskey. Try The Last Word, an untraditional spin on the classic with gin, eucalyptus, Chartreuse, and coconut water. Enjoy a Trust Issue with vodka, shaken cream, toasted hazelnuts, and fur. Imbibe a Warp Driver, a surprising harmony of dill aquavit, beetroot, espresso, and white chocolate, or a floral Pyramid Scheme highball perfumed with elderflower and angelica root. Explore their selection of beers from Gamma, enjoy a glass of wine, or sip on cider.

The name Inferno refers to owners Svend and Sigrid Sømod’s intent to saturate the senses in an immersive cocktail experience. Opened in March by the brother-sister duo, what started as a family-run apartment speakeasy is now a playground for experimental cocktails and design that blur the line between hospitality and installation art. Together with the intuition of bartender Ásgeir Már Björnsson, formerly of Mikropolis, Inferno crafts cocktails driven by their effects on the senses. Here, complementary chemical profiles take precedence over traditional recipes. The result is an exciting drink menu of daring pairings and loose interpretations of the classics found nowhere else.
