A cheerful yellow 17th-century building beckons you up the stairs and a green oasis greets you as you leave Christianshavn behind. Petanque courts, string lights, and city views set an idyllic scene for dinner on a warm summer night. Step into Lola and discover a unique culinary universe where Southeast Asian, Indian, and South American influences are masterfully mixed and matched. The ingredients are organic and responsibly sourced, and the vibrant team that prepares them works as a united front. Under the leadership of renowned chef Kamilla Seidler, they transform seasonal Danish ingredients into some of the most innovative dishes in the city.

Enjoy a 5-course menu at Lola. The menu is chef’s choice, so dishes rotate regularly and reflect the best produce of the season. Start with sweet and salty Som Tam, a Thai papaya salad seasoned with fish sauce, lime juice, dried shrimps, and fresh chiles. Taste cod ceviche with Peruvian Ají Amarillo chile, sweet potatoes, and Cancha corn. Get green and white asparagus adorned with a sauce of brown butter, carrot juice, and whey. Savor spicy Thai fish cakes topped with fresh mint, coriander, and crispy pan-fried rice. Tuck into chicharrón tacos with smoky slow-braised pork neck, tomatillo salsa verde, and crunchy pork crackling on warm corn tortillas.

The statement ‘I’ve never had this before’ is music to their ears, and even the Michelin Guide was mesmerized. If you’re wondering what kind of food is served at Lola, the answer lies in the diverse backgrounds of their skilled chefs. Chef-owner Kamilla Seidler spent six years in Bolivia and earned the title of Latin America’s Best Female Chef before returning to Denmark to open Lola in 2019. Along the way, she was joined by Bolivian chef Renata Zalles and Indian chef David Selvam, who worked together at the two-star Michelin restaurant Gaa in Bangkok. At Lola, their team dares to do things differently, both in the way they develop dishes and how they impact the restaurant industry at large.
