Pick any burger combo + beer or soda at Fatty’s in Nørrebro — From hidden gem to all kinds of accolades, including a City’s Best Burger nomination
Just last week, they were nominated for the coveted 'City's Best Burger' award by AOK. Fatty’s began as a hidden gem in a backyard at Islands Brygge without any form of marketing. They simply had a solid focus on craftsmanship and ingredients. This earned them Anders Husa's (tastehunter for The World’s 50 Best) label of 'Copenhagen’s Best Kept Burger Secret,' and shortly thereafter, they made it into Politiken's Cheap Eats. Now, two years later, Fatty’s has opened location number two — an spot inside the beer joint, Bootleggers.

They freshly grind the beef on-site and marinate the chicken in buttermilk. Their brioche buns are golden, their pickles have some tang, and their sauces add a spicy kick. At Fatty’s, their burger craftsmanship is rooted in American traditions — no frills, just good ingredients and perfect proportions. Behind Fatty’s are two heavy hitters: Torben Klitbo, who is the founder of Cofoco, and Danish-American Israel Karasik, who has cooked across the East Coast of the US, from Atlanta to Philadelphia and all the way up to New York.
