Hip hop on the speakers. Menu scrawled on the wall. Natural wine flowing between tightly packed tables. Osteria 98 pairs laid-back energy with the serious standards of a scratch kitchen and ingredients sourced from small farms just outside the city.
The move? Order broadly and share generously. Pasta shapes and sauces rotate frequently—rigatoni in creamy vodka sauce, pappardelle with asparagus and ricotta, mezze maniche in salsiccia ragù. The antipasti follows suit, with dishes like stracciatella topped with grilled spring onions or shaved beef salad dressed in vinaigrette. Alongside it all, natural wines from Italy, France, and Spain are poured without pretension.
Walk-ins only, because the best nights start without a reservation and end with tiramisu.
